Open Championship start up for grabs at NZ Open

A number of Aussie golfers will be chasing a prestigious start at this year’s Open Championship. A total of four places in The 153rd Open at Royal Portrush are available through the New Zealand Open presented by Sky Sport and the Investec South African Open Championship, which takes place from 27 February - 2 March.
The leading player not already exempt who makes the cut in the New Zealand Open presented by Sky Sport will earn a place in The Open, while the leading three players not already exempt who make the cut in the Investec South African Open Championship will also qualify.
The player already exempt in the field at the New Zealand Open presented by Sky Sport is Australia’s Curtis Luck. 
The players already exempt in the field at the Investec South African Open Championship are:

Ryggs Johnston

Romain Langasque

Bryan Newman (a)

Jordan Smith


(a) denotes amateur 


In the event of a tie for a qualifying place, the player with the higher ranking in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) at the beginning of the week commencing 24 February will be awarded a place in The Open.
